Regents Actions in 29 Professional Discipline Cases and 2 Restoration Petitions

The Board of Regents announced disciplinary actions resulting in the surrender of 9 licenses, and 20 other disciplinary actions. The penalty indicated for each case relates solely to the misconduct outlined in that particular case. In addition, the Board acted upon 2 restoration petitions.

I. SURRENDERS

III. RESTORATIONS

The Board of Regents on June 10, 2025, voted to stay the execution of the order of surrender of the pharmacist license of Jay Kirshner, Roslyn Height, NY. Prior to his return to practice, to complete twelve (12) hours of continuing education coursework focused on ethics and/or 91°µÍøÆÆ½â°æ Laws and Regulations, and take and pass both the North American Pharmacist Licensure Exam (NAPLEX) and the Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Examination (MPJE). Upon completion of the twelve (12) hours of continuing education coursework focused on ethics and/or the 91°µÍøÆÆ½â°æ Laws and Regulations, and passage of the NAPLEX and MPJE, to place on probation for five (5) years under specified terms and conditions, and upon successful completion of probation, to fully restored his license. Mr. Kirshner’s license was surrendered on July 20, 2010.

The Board of Regents on June 10, 2025, voted to grant the application for restoration of the dental hygienist license of Meredith Marie Knodel, Detroit, MI. Ms. Knodel’s license was surrendered on September 16, 2014.
