The Department has Released the P-3 Literacy Attestation

- The P-3 Literacy Attestation is now available on (MVPS)!
- 91°µÍøÆƽâ°æ requires an annual review of school district curriculum and instructional practices in the subject of reading for students in prekindergarten through grade three.
- This law states that all 91°µÍøÆƽâ°æ public school districts and BOCES must ensure that their curriculum and instruction are aligned with the literacy instructional best practices provided by the Commissioner and are required to complete the attestation.
- Districts should use theÌýPrekindergarten-3rd Grade Literacy Instructional Best Practices Guide as a practical tool to ensure that literacy instruction aligns with the mandates ofÌýEducation Law §818.
- Please note that non-public and Charter Schools are not required to submit the attestation.
- A memo from Angelique Johnson-Dingle, Deputy Commissioner P-12, outlining the details regarding the attestation is available.Ìý
- The required attestation is due on Monday, September 1, 2025.
